Part-time Language Proficiency Programmes in Foreign Languages
The University offers Part-time Language Proficiency Programmes in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Russian and Spanish.

 These programmes are generally held two hours a day on three days of the week either in the morning (7.00 – 9.00 a.m.) or in the evening (6.00 – 8.00 p.m.) depending on the availability of the faculty.

Each Proficiency Programme comprises approximately 180 teaching hours spread over two semesters.

The part-time programmes offered at the University are of three levels:

Certificate of Proficiency – Basic Level Diploma – Intermediate Level Advanced Diploma – Advanced Level

 The number of seats per programme will be stipulated by the University.

Admission Certificate of Proficiency / Diploma/Advanced Diploma

There shall be three entry points to these Programmes, i.e., at the beginning of each Programme.

 The entry to the Certificate of Proficiency will be based on merit.

Minimum Qualification: Class 10+2 or equivalent qualification with a minimum of 50%.

Weightage will be given to candidates with higher qualifications.
(a) i. 10+2 or equivalent with 80% or above 10 points. ii. First class (60%-79%) 8 points. iii. Less than First class (50% -59%) 5 points.
(b) Graduates 4 points.
(c) Students pursuing graduation 3 points.

 The entry to other levels will be through an Entrance Test.

The date of entrance test will be notified on the EFLU website.

All students, taking the Entrance Test, are required to pay an Entrance Test Fee of Rs. 200/- at the time of submission of the application. The Entrance Test Fee for SC/ST students shall be Rs 100/-. Orthopedically challenged students shall be exempted from paying this fee.


Admission will be given in only ONE language programme.

Application forms will be issued online from 1 st July - 15 th July 2015

Cost of application (General/OBC Rs. 100/-, SC/ST Rs.50/- and Orthopedically Handicapped – no cost)

 -1 st list to be put up on 20th July 2015
- 2 nd list to be put up on 25 th July 2015
- 3 rd and final list to be put up on 28 th July 2015

Classes will commence from 3rd August 2015.
