Applications are invited from Indian citizens for admission to the Ph.D. programmes for the session commencing from December 2014. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D.: (Engineering) M.Tech./M.E./M.Sc.(Engg.) degree in the respective or allied area. The candidates with Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or Master’s degree in Sciences in an allied area with exceptional academic record and possessing a valid GATE score may also apply. For Ph.D. in BSBE, candidates with MBBS, B.Pharma or M. Pharma Degree may also apply. Candidates with Master’s degree in Management may apply for Ph.D. in Industrial and Management Engineering (IME). Ph.D.: (Sciences & HSS) M.Sc./M.A. degree in respective or allied area with a valid GATE/UGC/CSIR score. GENERAL INFORMATION: Financial aid (Assistantship/Scholarship) is available for Ph.D. students. Admission for Sponsored and Part-time candidates is also open. Sponsored/Part-time candidate are not required to qualify GATE. Application form & Information brochure can be downloaded up to November 12, 2014.  IMPORTANT DATES: LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF COMPLETED APPLICATION FORM: November 17, 2014. Note: Department of Mechanical Engineering is offering M.Tech. admission in December semester. For eligibility applicants may visit the Mechanical Engineering department website. The application fee is Rs.400 for General and OBC candidates and Rs.200 for SC/ST candidates and PD candidates (including General and OBC). The fee must be paid through a demand draft payable to ‘The Registrar, IIT Kanpur payable at Kanpur. PhD applicants must submit two letters of reference as well.
